Add These Attractions For Your Next Trip To Avalon & Stone Harbor

Let’s be honest, you came to The 7 Mile Island to spend time on the pristine and coveted beaches. You have successfully found your Avalon rental or Stone Harbor rental, and the sand is an appropriate place to be during your summer vacation. During the summer season, beach tags are required for entry. Beach tags can be purchased at tag booths or by a ‘beach tager’ who are frequently working on and along the beach. The cost of a daily beach tag is $8, or $16 for the entire week. Please note that beach tags are not required for children under the age of 12. Sometimes beach tags are included with your Avalon rental property or Stone Harbor rental property, depending on if the owner decides to provide them. Your lease will state whether the owner is providing beach tags or not. While many people can spend all day at the beach, from sunup to sun down, others seek further activity or entertainment. There are many other attractions for all our tenants and visitors. Just off the beach in Avalon, there is a half-mile boardwalk for exceptional walks and bike rides. Adjacent to the boardwalk is Avalon’s recently new SurfSide park and playground, an ideal spot for families with children. The Avalon Boro features weekly events at this park, from movies to live music. Only one commercial building sits on the boardwalk, which highlights Sunday Best Ice Cream, the Avalon Arcade, and lastly the renowned Summer Salt restaurant featuring dinner on the dunes. This is the only spot to eat in Avalon with oceanfront views. The Avalon boardwalk is an outstanding place to relax, entertain the kids with games, eat homemade ice cream, and spend quality time with the whole family. 

Our island is known for excellent bayfront properties and public bay access. Bayfront activities, including swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, fishing, and water-sports. During the summer season, the bay is a great place to cool off with warmer water compared to the ocean. There are numerous places to rent equipment for all the bay activities. Island Water Sports in Stone Harbor offers private sessions of all water sports and boat charters. 

Avalon & Stone Harbor both have celebrated downtown areas, full of things to do and easy entertainment for your whole group. Both downtown areas are different in terms of size, layout,  and atmospheres. Yet the main attraction for both Avalon & Stone Harbor is world-class shopping with high-end stores. Along with unique coastal shopping you can find activities like miniature golf and golf simulators. For those who are physically active - multiple playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, paddleball courts, and fields can be easily found.
