Salt Marsh Safari Event

Salt Marsh Safari

  • Location: Wetlands Institute

Wetlands Institute - Watch our award-winning film, Secrets of the Salt Marsh, then join us for an interpretive walk through the wetlands!  Together we will travel along our elevated walkway, down the salt marsh trail, and out onto the dock overlooking Scotch Bonnet creek.  To fully experience the marsh, make sure to wear shoes that can get wet and muddy!

Weekdays:  10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm
Weekends:  11:00am and 1:00pm
Free with admission

Captain Bill Gallagher 10 Mile Island Run Event

Captain Bill Gallagher 10 Mile Island Run

  • Location: Beach Patrol Headquarters
  • Starts: 6:00 pm
  • Ends: 7:45 pm

The race will start at 6:00 PM, rain or shine, on Saturday, August 1, 2026
Due to safety concerns an electrical storm will necessitate cancelling the run.  Weather cancellations will be announced by 4:30 PM on the home page of the beach patrol's website.
A traffic free, flat course which starts at the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Headquarters, located at 44th Street and the Boardwalk. Run north on the boardwalk to the 29th Street ramp, onto the beach to the Strathmere turn around, return over the same route running south to the 57th Street ramp, onto the beach to the Townsend's Inlet turn around, return along the beach to the finish in front of the Beach Patrol Headquarters.

Stone Harbor Festival of Lights Boat Parade and Viewing Party

  • Starts: 8:00 pm

Don't miss this annual event! The festival of lights boat parade is a twinkling tradition in Stone Harbor. Come out and support these artisans as they sail along the bay in their masterpieces.

The Boat parade begins at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, then heads south around Paradise Basin and Sanctuary Basin. Boats will enter Carnival Bay, then Pleasure Bay. The boats continue north into Stone Harbor basin, followed by Shelter Haven, Snug Harbor, South and North Basins. Boats will return south and end back at YCSH where judging occurs on deck followed by the after-party.


Open to all! Competition Categories include Best Dock Décor, Best Boat Décor and Best Costume. Pre-Registration for boaters required online. This years theme is "US History 250 - Calls Is Now In Session" which celebrates America’s 250th birthday year through the people, places, eras and cultural moments that have shaped our country.  Honor and remember America’s history, creativity and community.
