Wetlands Institute - Watch our award-winning film, Secrets of the Salt Marsh, then join us for an interpretive walk through the wetlands!  Together we will travel along our elevated walkway, down the salt marsh trail, and out onto the dock overlooking Scotch Bonnet creek.  To fully experience the marsh, make sure to wear shoes that can get wet and muddy!

Weekdays:  10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm

Santa's Stone Harbor Vacation

Once Santa firms up his schedule, you may pick it up at the Welcome Center of the Chamber at 212 96th Street.

STEAM teams will learn about a Wild and Wacky Cheese Chase Event that occurs in Gloucester, England each year and be challenged with designing and building their own version of the event in the form of a (Christmas Themed) PLINKO game board. The excitement over this is extraordinary! This activity is for ages 7 to 12. Attendees under 8 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

The Avalon Department of Recreation and the Avalon Free Public Library are proud to present the 2026 summer concert series Thursday evenings at Avalon's Surfside Park! Some familiar friends return, and plenty of new bands making their Avalon debut this year! Soul, country, rock, oldies, you name it, and you'll hear it in Avalon! We can't WAIT to see you there!
